Marafiki Abyssinians - a little background information

Marafiki means 'friends' in Swahili which I thought was a perfect prefix or cattery name.  MARAFIKI is our GCCF registered cattery name.  All cats bred by us will have the Marafiki prefix as the first part of their registered name.

My name is Jayn Stapleton, and my husband, Chris, and I have four young children, Eloise, Harvey, Theo and Casper, who keep us very busy!  We've had cats for many years and we currently have a lovely Siamese cat, Sarah, a gorgeous usual Abyssinian cat, Aimee (our foundation queen), and a beautiful sorrel Abyssinian cat called Matilda.
I am a registered breeder with the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF), a member of the Abyssinian Cat Club, the Abyssinian Cat Association and the Kentish Cat Society.

We have some idea of what we would like to do in the future.  Firstly, we plan to show our breeding cats, and will keep the show news page updated as to how we get on every time we attend a show.  Secondly, we plan to produce kittens in a variety of colours. We aim to begin with Usual, Sorrel   Blue and Fawn, and then perhaps move on to the more unusual colours  - I am particularly keen on having a Chocolate queen myself one day, but we will have to see how things go...

The main aim of MARAFIKI Abyssinians, however, is to breed happy healthy kittens, and just as importantly, high quality kittens, to maintain the already high standards of Abyssinian cats in this country.
